(Eulum Alhadith)

A book written by Dr. Abdul Karim Zidan in cooperation with Dr. Abdul-Qahar Daoud Al-Ani in 1407 AH / 1986 AD. The book deals with the definition of the Sunnah and its discussions, and the fundamentals of hadith science in terms of authenticity and weakness of hadiths and the acceptance and response made by the righteous predecessors, with clarification of the efforts made by the righteous predecessors in preserving the fixed Sunnah and distinguishing it from the subject and false, from what no nation of nations witnessed, with miraculous disclosure of The imams of hadith, the owners of authentic books and others, all according to a sound scientific method, and an understandable modern style.

Introduction to the book

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Sublime, and blessings and peace be upon the Master of the Messengers Muhammad and upon his family and companions as a whole:

And after: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research commissioned me and my brother, Dr. Abdul-Qahar Daoud Al-Ani, to write a book on the sciences of hadith, which includes the definition of the Sunnah and its issues, and the definition of the hadiths, validity and weakness, with an explanation of the efforts made by the righteous predecessors in preserving the fixed Sunnah and distinguishing it from the object and the false, What a nation of nations has not witnessed, with brief disclosures of hadith imams and owners of authentic books and other things we hope that we have succeeded in the book by providing it according to the sound scientific method and modern understandable style while fulfilling its fundamentals as a fulfillment that will be a fruitful fruit for our students in their diligence and struggle for the sake of the society's goodness and pride Nation.

After looking at the book in its first edition, we found that we should add to it some important matters, and make up our minds on some topics and mention the definitions and the investigations as examples that help to understand. By Allah, we ask that this work be sincere and beneficial for the students of knowledge, who loved the Messenger of Allah and loved his Sunnah, and worked hard to follow him, and every lover of knowledge would draw from it. Allah is the Grantor of success.

And it introduces the science of hadith and its importance, and defines the Sunnah and its relationship with the Qur’an.

The First Chapter: The Authentic Hadith, and it includes three topics

  The Third Topic: The most correct chain of narrators and the ranks of the correct hadith

The Second Chapter: Hasan (The Good Hadith), and it includes two sections:

The Third Chapter: Da`If (The Weak Hadith), and it includes two topics:

  The First Topic: The Ranks Of The Weak (Da`If)
